SoftSheen-Carson is the world's leading manufacturer of ethnic hair care
products. SoftSheen-Carson belongs to the prestigious brand portfolio of
L'Oréal USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of L'Oréal Group, the world's leading
cosmetics company. Headquartered in New York, SoftSheen-Carson is led by
Candace Matthews, President. In 1998, L'Oréal USA acquired Chicago-based Soft Sheen Products, Inc., a leader in the Black hair care industry that was founded in 1964. In 2000, L'Oréal USA acquired Carson Products, another successful manufacturer of ethnic hair and skin care products headquartered in Savannah, Georgia. The two companies were successfully merged in August of 2000 to become SoftSheen-Carson, making it the worldwide headquarters for hair care products for people of African descent. |

By providing premier products for the care of hair and skin, SoftSheen-Carson transcends the needs and exceeds the desires of people of color. SoftSheen-Carson is dedicated to supporting women, children, and education. SoftSheen-Carson has supported the UNCF and the Tom Joyner Foundation. The L'Oréal/SoftSheen-Carson Scholarship Program provides scholarships, internships and laptops to students at historically black colleges. In 2002, SoftSheen-Carson began the tradition of an annual clothing drive (Diva Duds) to benefit the women of Clara's House, a Chicago home for women, and provides a plethora of products to churches, schools and those in need. SoftSheen-Carson has also participated in the Expo for Today's Black Woman and the National Black MBA Conference, and has sponsored the Essence Awards. |
